Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain

      Federal Minister for Human Resource Development

Younger brother of Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain received his Bachelor’s degree from George Washington University, USA, in 1982.

He is married and is an industrialist and agriculturist by profession.

He was elected as member of the National Assembly for the first time on ticket of PML in 2002 general elections,

and also elected as Chairman of the District Council, Gujrat.

Previously, he was elected as member of the Punjab Assembly in 1988, 1990 and 1997 elections.

Chaudhry Ghias Ahmed Mela, born on September 17, 1961, has been elected as MNA for his second term on a PML(Q) seat. An agriculturist by profession, he completed his B.Sc. from University of Evansville, Indiana, USA in 1985. Chaudhry Ghias Ahmed Mela was elected MNA in 1997 and he served as a member of District Council, Sargodha in 1991.

Introduction:EOB Act 1976 was enforced with effect from April 01, 1976, to achieve the objective of Article 38 (C) of the Constitution, by providing for compulsory social insurance. It extends Old-Age Benefits to insured persons or their survivors

Benefits:
Under EOB Scheme, Insured Persons are entitled to avail benefit like, Old-Age Pension (on the event of retirement), Invalidity Pension (In case of permanent disability), Old-Age Grant (an Insured Person attained superannuation age, but does not posses the minimum threshold for pension) Survivor’s Pension (in case an Insured Person is expired)

Pension Rates:

Contributions:EOBI does not receive any financial assistance from the Government for carrying out its Operations. A contribution equal to 5% of minimum  wages has to be paid by the Employers of all the Industrial and Commercial Organizations where EOB act is applicable. Contribution equal to 1% of minimum wages by the employees of said Organizations.
W.E.F. January 01, 2012 Federal Government is pleased to allow following revised rates of Pension Payment to the Insured Persons and their survivors.

W.E.F. January 01, 2012 Federal Government is pleased to allow following revised rates of Pension

  • Minimum Pension has been enhanced from Rs. 3000 per month to Rs. 3600 per month.
  • Other pensions have been increased by 20%.
  • Additional pension equal to the pension allowed as per rules to the female child of a deceased insured person already in receipt of of pension after attaining the age 18 years till marriage.
  • Additional Pension to disabled child of the deceased insured persons already in receipt in pension after attaining the age of 18 till death.
